Hours of operation for K-4 students: 

8:30  Morning supervision on the playground begins

8:50  Entry/classes begin for everyone

10-10:30  Recess/snack time (varies according to grade)

12-12:40  Lunch/outside play time (varies according to grade)

3:15  dismissal for bus

3:20  dismissal for non bus students

3:30 supervision ends on playground

Fees and Supplies

At the beginning of the school year, all children from grade 1-12  are required to pay a school fee which covers the costs of art and science consumables, computer discs, photocopies, homereading books,  etc.  This fee is set by Chinooks Edge School Division No. 73.  $1 of this fee is for accident insurance that covers students on scheduled school days, to and from school, during school hours and on school authorized field trips.  Parents will also have the opportunity to purchase additional 24 hour/365 day coverage.

Kindergarten fee:  none               Grade 1-4 fee:  $55.00 (due by Sept. 30 unless other arrangements have been made with the school secretary)

Occasionally, parents will be asked to cover costs for special activities. Such as, field trips or presentations.  Please contact the school secretary if you are unable to pay the requested fee for a class activity.  No child will be denied opportunity to participate in any activity due to financial burden.

Reporting absences and late arrivals

CCS operates a Call Safe Program.  If your child will be absent or late, please contact the school by note in the SOS book (if absence in known in advance) or by phone (227-0170) before 9am on the day of the absence or late arrival.  CCS has a 24 hour answering machine in operation for you to leave your call safe message.  In the event that no absence message is received, parents and or emergency contacts will be contacted at home or work.

Bussing

CCS accesses bussing through two systems.  The town bus and the shuttle bus.  The town bus picks up children who qualify for it (depending on how far you live from the school) at a designated spot close to your home and then drops your child off at the school and takes them back to the designated spot after school.

The shuttle bus starts at a designated area at the bus loop in front of IMS.  The bus has a sign in the window marked 'CCS'.  The bus leaves the loop for CCS at 8:25 sharp.  In order to meet our timetable requirements, the bus must leave on time.  At dismissal time,  the bus leaves CCS at 3:15 pm.  An adult supervisor will always accompany the students on the bus to and from CCS.  Please ensure your child knows their after school plan.  It is best to write this plan in the SOS book daily.
